Microsoft has shifted VS Code to weekly stable releases. Versions 1.112 and 1.111 bring integrated browser debugging (open and debug web apps without leaving the editor), deprecation of Edit Mode (fully removed in v1.125), Copilot CLI permission levels for agent autonomy, sandboxed MCP server execution on macOS and Linux, agent support for reading image and binary files, and new agent troubleshooting tools including a debug events snapshot feature and a permissions picker for controlling agent autonomy per session.
