There are way too many webdev people on here that think vibe coding only involve multi-tiered architectures and NPM. There are many other roles (data scientists, devops, systems architecture, data engineering, ml engineering) where writing quick scripts or solutions (sometimes throwaway scripts) works out well with vibe coding. If you have’t found some place where vibe coding is useful SOMEWHERE you don’t program enough (or outside your job) or you’re not being creative enough. Yes if you just put in your 8 with vscode writing typescript against a giant codebase its use is probably limited, if you actually do other things with it then you’ll find a ton of great uses. And if you do ‘vibe paring’ instead of vibe coding you can find even more.

Sorry but i disagree! However it really depends on the usecase.
I am not using an AI-Editor or console, so i would say my AI usage is already pretty limited but there are things where it definitely is practical and useful!
Also yes it allows you to do things without learning but if you do these things often enough you should take the time to properly learn it and if you don’t, then i guess its good that you didnt spend the time to learn it.

I’m a project manager with some tech knowledge. I understand architect and logic perfectly well. I understand the code when reading them. Before the AI revolution, I struggled to write code because of all the syntax hassles. Now with AI I can write code, scripts, and fix bugs like a champ. And it’s working great for me.
