Velan Studios, known for Midnight Murder Club and Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, has opened a new office in Toronto, Canada. The expansion supports original title development and external partnerships as the New York-based studio scales up. CEO Karthik Bala cited a desire to collaborate with Toronto developers on innovative player experiences. The move comes roughly two years after the studio laid off 46 workers following a cancelled external project, and coincides with the studio approaching its 10th anniversary.
