Valve developer Rhys Perry has merged ACO compiler and RADV Vulkan driver changes into Mesa Git for AMD's GFX11.7 GPU target, set to be branded as RDNA 4m. The changes extend support for features like shaderMixedFloatDotProductFloat8AccFloat32 and EXT_shader_float8 (8-bit floating point) to GFX11.7, showing it shares more traits with GFX12 (RDNA4) than being a simple RDNA3 rebrand. Valve's team leads ACO compiler work as part of their ongoing RADV efforts, aided by early hardware resources from AMD since AMD acknowledged RADV replacing AMDVLK. The GFX11.7 target is for yet-to-be-launched APUs/SoCs.
