A fun personal experiment using R to conduct a double-blind taste test of decaf vs caffeinated coffees. Six coffee samples were blindly labeled and ranked by two tasters. Results were analyzed using Kendall's Tau and Spearman correlation tests, with ggplot2 visualizations. Both tasters ranked the caffeinated beans highest, and the p-values (6-8%) were borderline significant. The author humorously acknowledges the small sample size and loose statistical standards, but concludes that the difference in taste is likely due to caffeine's bitterness contribution.
