John Daghita, son of a US government IT contractor, was arrested in Saint Martin following an alleged $46 million theft of seized cryptocurrency from the US Marshals Service. The case was cracked after Daghita publicly boasted about his crypto holdings in a Telegram dispute, which led blockchain investigator ZachXBT to trace wallet addresses back to stolen government funds. His father's company, CMDSS, holds a $4 million government contract related to managing seized assets for the US Marshals. The FBI conducted the arrest jointly with France's GIGN tactical unit. Following the revelations, CMDSS's website and social media accounts were taken offline.
