I’ve used Unity for 12+ years.
I tried it, spent 2 days prototyping with it for both gaming and enterprise use.
I didn’t like it, nor do I think it’s actually suitable for non-coders.
For game development, the future favors platforms like Horizon and Roblox. For Enterprise, they are several years away from something beyond a marketing tool.
I hope they double down on the enterprise front, as it’s most likely to deliver the best RoI, but they need to ditch node-based programming and use text + AI. People don’t really like node-based programming, simple code takes up too much space, and the AI prompting has proven to be way more user-friendly for people new to programming.
