Unity 6.4 has been released as a supported release (not LTS), sitting between LTS versions 6.3 and the upcoming 6.5. Key changes include ECS/Entities becoming a core package (no longer requiring separate installation), the Project Auditor tool now built into the editor by default, custom rendering and post-processing support for 2D URP projects, runtime sprite atlas creation, a redesigned rendering statistics window, multi-threading support for Burst compiled jobs on web builds, and Graph Toolkit extensions for custom editor tools. Adaptive Performance now supports consoles. The release focuses on quality-of-life improvements and incremental steps toward future major changes like merging ECS with GameObjects and unifying render pipelines.
