<h2>Unity Studio launches out of beta</h2>
Unity Studio, Unity’s browser-based no-code 3D editor, is now generally available at $799 per seat per year with a 30-day free trial.
The pitch is straightforward: designers, marketers, industrial engineers, and sales teams can build interactive 3D experiences without writing code or installing anything. You work directly in the browser, import CAD or BIM files (70+ formats supported), and assemble scenes through a drag-and-drop canvas interface.
The feature set covers most of what non-developer teams actually need:

<li>Scene inspection, asset management, and lighting controls</li>
<li>An animation director with a keyframe timeline</li>
<li>A UI canvas for overlaying functional interfaces on top of 3D scenes</li>
<li>A visual logic editor for building interactions without scripting</li>
<li>Publishing to a secure shareable URL for stakeholder review</li>
</ul>
The target use cases are industrial: HMI prototype validation, automotive and industrial dashboard UI, product configurators, machine behavior demonstrations, and operator training simulations. The idea is that engineers and marketers can iterate on 3D scenes in real time without waiting on a developer to make every change. Each seat also includes access to Unity Asset Manager.
It’s worth being clear about what this is and isn’t. Unity Studio is not a replacement for the Unity Editor — it’s a lightweight, web-based tool aimed at enterprise configurator and showroom workflows. If you’re a game developer, this probably isn’t relevant to you.

<h2>Unity 6.4 is also out</h2>
Unity 6.4 dropped alongside the Studio announcement. It’s a supported release, not LTS — sitting between 6.3 and the upcoming 6.5, with 6.8 being the next significant milestone.
The headline changes:
ECS is now a core package. The Entity Component System and Entities packages are integrated into the engine by default. You no longer need to install them separately, which is a meaningful quality-of-life improvement for teams already using data-oriented workflows. Longer term, Unity is working toward merging ECS with the traditional GameObject system.
Project Auditor is built in. The tool for analyzing performance, memory, and code quality is now a default part of the editor rather than a separate install.
2D URP improvements. Custom rendering and post-processing support arrives for 2D Universal Render Pipeline projects, along with runtime sprite atlas creation.
Web build multi-threading. Burst-compiled jobs now support multi-threading on web builds.
Other additions: A redesigned rendering statistics window, Graph Toolkit extensions for custom editor tooling, Adaptive Performance console support, DirectStorage support on Windows, and Matchmaker dashboard improvements.
Unity Core Standards also adds security prompts for unsigned packages in this release.
Overall, 6.4 is incremental — useful improvements, but the bigger architectural changes (unified render pipelines, full ECS/GameObject merge) are still ahead in 6.8 and beyond.
