Underrated skill as a developer

Budgeting? Lol… I call BS. That noise is for PMs and managers. There is currently no incentive structure for a dev to think about budgeting - on the contrary - it’s more beneficial to ensure job security in most environments than to balance books.
Trash take. I’d sooner say: data structures, communication, design all contribute to better developers than… budgeting.

Budgeting is so key. But my favorite observation here is what technical debt actually is, “You’re deciding to incur debt now so you can get further ahead, right now.”
I love making something perfect, I also like just getting things done and most of the time done costs way less right now than perfect.
