.NET 11 Preview 1 focuses on runtime and infrastructure changes rather than language features. Key highlights include migrating Android .NET apps from Mono to CoreCLR for better consistency and performance, early-stage work to bring CoreCLR to WebAssembly (full support expected in .NET 12), and runtime async support now enabled by default in CoreCLR. Hardware requirements are also being raised: Arm64 now requires armv8.0-a with LSE and x64 needs x86-64-v3, which may break older hardware. Additional platform support includes RISC-V and IBM mainframes. The final release is expected in November 2026.
