LOL, I saw this and said out loud B.S. (the full phrase) If my code is ‘NOT’ dead in ten years, then I’m a horrible leader, boss, and developer. I’m doing something wrong. My opinion, it’s why, many…, no…many is not the correct word. Much more than many. Tens of thousands-ish of businesses fail. They create an amazing product and then wait for the ten years for the code to dead. People want the ‘wow’ factor, which means, keep evolving your code. If I’m doing things right, my code is dead which three years or less. I have to keep evolving my code to keep my customers. Looking back and the code three years ago. That code is DEAD! I know that’s not what this article was totally about. But, read the title ‘You Code Will Be Dead In Ten Years’ definitely grabbed my attention.

Have all these commenters here not read the article? This is about scientific papers which use code as validation. This code will not be maintained or even executed and should be written in such a way, that other researchers can easily implement the solution into the language they’re using.
