Innovate UK's Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme (CyberASAP) has helped alumni raise £47.4 million in follow-on investment over nine years, with 68% from private sources including VC and angel investors. The programme, funded by the UK's Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, has supported academics from over 80 universities, resulting in 42 companies formed, 3 acquisitions (including GraphicFuzz acquired by Google), and a near 4:1 return on public funding. DSIT has committed an additional £10 million over the next four years.
