Hacktivists calling themselves 'The Islamic Cyber Resistance in Iraq 313 Team' have claimed responsibility for a sustained DDoS attack against Ubuntu and Canonical's web infrastructure. The attack, ongoing for over 20 hours, has disrupted Ubuntu's security API, several websites, and prevented users from installing or updating Ubuntu. Canonical acknowledged the attack but had not responded to press inquiries at time of publication.
