An early benchmark preview comparing AMD Radeon gaming performance on Ubuntu 25.10 versus the upcoming Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. Ubuntu 26.04 currently runs Linux 6.19 and Mesa 26.0, with Linux 7.0 still expected before final release. Testing used an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D paired with an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT (RDNA4). The preview is limited due to ongoing stability issues (hard hangs) with RDNA3/RDNA4 on Linux 6.19, but early results show meaningful performance gains for open-source AMD Radeon users on Ubuntu 26.04.
