Ubuntu 25.10's transition from GNU Coreutils to Rust Coreutils has revealed several performance issues, with the Rust version being significantly slower in some cases. If you want Performance you have to mutate variables and write “unsafe” code … which basically means you need to know what the heck you’re doing … just because the compiler doesnot say it’s memory safe it doesn’t mean it’s an issue … yes there are bugs but honestly also rust code can be exploited since there are also logical bugs which cause security issues … this whole fanatism for rust is just crazy

It’s still better. Look at all the issues with C programs. They are huge and abundant. Just stick with the next generation Rust tools, let them mature, and they will faster, better, stronger, than whatever crap the obsolete C tools had shitten out.
