Ubuntu 25.10 Adds New Rust Library to Default Installs

Ubuntu 25.10 'Questing Quokka' now includes rust-hwlib, a new Rust-based library developed by Canonical's Hardware Certification team. The library enables Ubuntu Pro client to retrieve machine information and check hardware certification status. It provides a command-line tool called hwctl that helps users identify which components have been tested and certified for specific Ubuntu releases. Currently limited to x86-64 systems, the library is being added to default desktop and server installations, with plans to backport it to earlier Ubuntu versions.
