Unionized workers at the now-closed Ubisoft Halifax studio have voted to accept a confidential settlement negotiated by CWA Canada Local 30111. The studio, which employed 71 people and focused on mobile games, was shut down in January 2026 just weeks after employees voted to unionize. CWA Canada credited union solidarity for the successful negotiation. The closure is part of Ubisoft's broader restructuring around five 'Creative Houses,' which has led to widespread layoffs and studio closures globally, with further cost reductions of €200 million planned over the next two years.
