UAE-based G42 and US chipmaker Cerebras are partnering to deploy 8 exaflops of computing power via a new supercomputer system in India, announced at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. The system will comply with local data residency and security rules, targeting educational institutions, government bodies, and SMEs. MBZUAI and India's C-DAC are also involved. The announcement is part of a broader wave of AI infrastructure investment in India, with Adani pledging $100B, Reliance $110B, OpenAI partnering with Tata for compute capacity, and US tech giants Amazon, Google, and Microsoft collectively committing ~$70B to Indian AI and cloud infrastructure.
