Looks handy for a minor state management. Just remember that the supported <a href="https://stackoverflow.com/questions/417142/what-is-the-maximum-length-of-a-url-in-different-browsers" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">max length of URL is different</a> almost everywhere
