A developer created a FreeCAD addon called InstrumentInput that connects a Sylvac Bluetooth-enabled caliper directly to FreeCAD sketches, allowing measurements to be transferred instantly into digital models. The integration uses BLE GATT profiles and Sylvac's developer tools. The addon is installable via FreeCAD's addon manager, and a standalone Python library for the caliper is also available. The caliper also supports HID keyboard emulation mode natively, but this was deemed too slow and limited for practical use.
