A hands-on experiment installing the Haiku OS (Beta 5 and nightly builds) on a 2009 Mac Mini. The 32-bit build ran into compatibility issues with the Mac's 64-bit EFI firmware, making it largely unusable. The 64-bit version fared better but still lacks audio support and GPU acceleration on this hardware. The Mac Mini is deemed a reasonable test platform for 64-bit Haiku given its standard Intel internals with Apple EFI.
