Sparseal has launched Wafer, a new iPad app for 3D texture painting focused on stylized and hand-painted assets. It offers brushes, layers, masks, blend modes, pressure/tilt support, stencils, decals, and stamps in a fully non-destructive workflow. Users can paint across multiple PBR channels simultaneously or set up custom channel layouts for NPR and stylized shaders. The entire stack is built in Rust and WGPU using a custom cross-platform UI toolkit. Wafer is available as a one-time purchase on the App Store, with a PC version potentially in development.
