iXsystems has announced TrueNAS Connect, a new subscription tier that bridges TrueNAS Community Edition and TrueNAS Enterprise. Previously, enterprise features like advanced monitoring, multi-system management, proactive alerts, and ransomware protection were only available to customers who purchased TrueNAS Enterprise hardware appliances. TrueNAS Connect allows users running their own hardware to access these enterprise-class capabilities for a fee, without buying iXsystems appliances. The TrueNAS Community Edition remains free and will continue to be maintained.
