Truecaller, the caller ID app with over 500 million users, is facing slowing growth as downloads in India fell 16% year-over-year in 2025 and global downloads declined 5%. The company lost roughly one-third of ad traffic from its largest partner (identified as Google) in August 2025, a significant risk given that 65–70% of revenue comes from advertising. Meanwhile, telecom-led solutions like CNAP and built-in spam blocking from Apple and Google are encroaching on its core offering. On the positive side, in-app revenue has grown sharply to $39.3 million in 2025, its enterprise segment grew 39% in constant currency, and it now has over 4 million paid subscribers. Truecaller is building its own ad exchange, expanding iOS presence, and pushing enterprise and subscription revenue to diversify away from ad dependence.
