TriZetto, a health tech company owned by Cognizant that serves around 200 million people across 875,000 U.S. healthcare providers, has confirmed that hackers stole personal and health data belonging to more than 3.4 million people in a 2024 cyberattack. The breach went undetected for nearly a year, with TriZetto identifying it on October 2, 2025, despite hackers having access since November 2024. Stolen data includes names, dates of birth, home addresses, Social Security numbers, insurance eligibility details, and health information. Several organizations, including nonprofit OCHIN, have confirmed their patients were affected. The incident follows the 2024 Change Healthcare ransomware attack that exposed over 192 million patient files.
