TrendAI, the rebranded enterprise cybersecurity arm of Trend Micro, has launched a locally hosted data centre in South Africa and announced plans for further African expansion. The investment was driven by financial services and government clients blocked by local regulations from using offshore-hosted platforms. The South African facility supports hybrid and multi-cloud integration, AI-driven infrastructure monitoring, and disaster recovery with compliance reporting. TrendAI also unveiled a Sovereign Private Cloud product for air-gapped, on-premises deployments targeting defence and critical government sectors. New product enhancements include a generative AI-powered SIEM that classifies unfamiliar log formats in three hours instead of three days, an attack-path vulnerability management tool, and an AI security layer covering full-stack AI deployments. The company reported 80% year-on-year revenue growth in Q1 2026 across its Africa and Mediterranean region.
