The Ethereum Foundation has begun staking approximately 70,000 ETH from its treasury, using open-source tools Dirk (distributed signer across multiple geographic regions) and Vouch (multi-client support). The setup uses Type 2 (0x02) withdrawal credentials, enabling validator consolidation down to ~35 signing keys with a 2048 ETH max effective balance per validator. Infrastructure combines minority clients, hosted and self-managed hardware across jurisdictions, and builds blocks locally without proposer-builder separation. The initiative generates ETH-denominated yield for the foundation while demonstrating transparent, resilient solo staking practices.
