All over the world babies have the same way of communicating: with crying. What if there were a way to convert a baby's cries into a language model that artificial intelligence can understand? That is what Software Developer Senthil Komar is trying to do. A new parent describes their journey of using AI to decipher their baby's cries. By recording the baby's sounds and using deep neural networks, they aim to create an app in Flutter that can identify the reasons behind a baby's crying, thereby reducing the panic and uncertainty parents often face.

While cool, this is way easier to just do with your own ears. To make an ML app that records the sound, converts it to an image and compares it to training data seems so overkill.
