Traefik Proxy Emerges as Kubernetes Networking Standard as IBM, Nutanix, SUSE and OVHcloud Migrate From Ingress NGINX

Traefik Labs announced that major platform vendors including IBM Cloud, Nutanix, OVHcloud, SUSE, and TIBCO have independently chosen Traefik Proxy as their ingress controller and Gateway API solution following the retirement of Ingress NGINX. Traefik includes an Ingress NGINX Provider that automatically translates existing NGINX annotations into Traefik configuration with over 90% annotation coverage, enabling gradual migration. SUSE will make Traefik the default ingress controller for RKE2 starting with v1.36, Nutanix has standardized on it for its NKP platform, and OVHcloud is using it as a foundation for Gateway API adoption. Traefik Proxy is MIT-licensed, with an upgrade path to Traefik Hub for API Gateway and full lifecycle management.
