A developer shares their experience working on two projects simultaneously: an IoT system using traditional coding for deep understanding and maintainability, and a SaaS product using AI-assisted low-code tools for faster ticket completion. The traditional approach built stronger system-wide confidence and debugging ability, while the low-code approach worked but left knowledge gaps. The key insight: when using AI tools to skip syntax learning, that time must be reallocated to understanding high-level system architecture.
