Top Five Languages in 2025

I seen a report earlier this year that C# overtook JavaScript. I have not seen any report that puts TypeScript that high. Can you please provide sources.

TypeScript is not language it is attire over JS :)

I mean that’s cool and all, but the most popular OS is Windows, that doesn’t mean that it’s the best.
I never quite understood the desire to rank programming language popularity, even if it is for the purposes of deciding what language to study for a beginner wanting to find an entry level job (good luck).
Programmer really shouldn’t lock themselves into one language or one framework, or one business domain, and it’s best to have a variety of languages that are capable of different things rather than “Knowing the top 5 most popular languages”.

TypeScript isn’t its own language. It’s just syntactic sugar on top of real JavaScript, just like the old CoffeeScript. Not that that’s a bad thing, but we really should be doing JS/TS as one on things like this
