For local development on macOS - orbstack works pretty well.

I honestly hadn’t thought enough lately about how containers are becoming more engine agnostic. I’m curious if contenders will come up against k8s (and I guess docker?) to compete. Or maybe a new technology emerges (probably more like a legacy thing resurfacing 🤣)

I would go for micro VMs, just like <a href="http://Fly.io" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">Fly.io</a> This sounds like a better approach nowadays, offers fast load time, secure at core, low complexity and potentially reuses a lot of the docker files that I already have (or migrate with help of AI)
