Typescript has over 19 million weekly downloads on NPM. The language is widely used in software products such as Slack, Medium, Asana, or Visual Studio Code. Microsoft (duh!), JetBrains, eBay, Ericsson, airbnb or Ubisoft are all open about using TypeScript.

To Typescript Or To Not?

Definitely typescript. Once you get your build pipeline set up you can use as much (or as little) of typescript as you want. You can use types where you need them and fall back to implicit any everywhere else.
It will be harder converting to TS in the future as your projects grows than to invest the time into configuring the build pipeline now.
Plus you can learn as you go. I’ve started using typescript without any knowledge of it since it’s a superset of JS it’s easy to get going within it in a new project.

I never regret the decision to got with TS.
