Chris Hackmann (LeggoMyFroggo) built a wristwatch powered by an actual Game Boy Color CPU (Sharp Z80-based SOC), assisted by an RP2040 that converts the parallel RGB output for a modern watch-sized display. The watch is 15mm thick, features original-style controls on the sides, and loads games via custom PCBs in an M.2 slot that mimic GBC cartridges. With no room for a battery in the body, the battery is embedded in a silicone watch strap via a flexible PCB. The aluminum case is CNC-machined and anodized in a Nintendo-purple finish. Project files will be published on GitHub once documentation is complete.
