Avalonia UI has secured a three-year, $3 million sponsorship from Devolutions, a Québec-based remote connection and PAM solutions company that builds its cross-platform products with Avalonia. The funding is dedicated exclusively to open-source work under the MIT license, covering core framework development, documentation, tooling, and community support. This closes the classic open-source funding gap that previously forced commercial priorities. Highlights include 87 million+ NuGet downloads, media-query support in v11.3.0, 2x+ Android performance improvements, and Avalonia v12 on track for Q4 2025 aligned with .NET releases. Avalonia differentiates itself from .NET MAUI with a drawn UI approach, single XAML dialect, and first-class Linux support, and also powers Avalonia XPF for running WPF apps on macOS and Linux.
