Meta's social platform, is launching 'Live Chat' feature enabling real-time group conversations during cultural events like sports games and album drops. Initially rolling out to select creators during NBA playoffs, Live Chat supports up to 150 active participants who can send messages, photos, videos, links, and emoji reactions. Additional users beyond the limit can join in 'spectator' mode to view, react, and participate in polls. The feature includes moderation controls for hosts and automatic policy enforcement. Future updates will add co-hosting, real-time play-by-play updates, lock screen widgets, and the ability to share chat messages to the main feed.
