TrueNAS 26 beta introduces WebShares, a new file-sharing feature that gives the NAS platform a cloud-like experience similar to Google Drive. WebShares require pairing with TrueNAS Connect (free tier supported) and can be configured via a dedicated wizard in the Network Shares tab. The update also improves LXC container support with a streamlined UI, device passthrough options including GPU support, and additional LXC templates. Previous sharing protocols (SMB, NFS, iSCSI) remain available, and TrueNAS 25.10 had already added NVMe-over-TCP support.
