The DS Pixel Keyboard is a touchscreen keyboard that doubles as a second monitor. It features a detachable frame with physical keys to facilitate touch typing, offers a 1,000Hz or 8,000Hz polling rate, and is available through a Kickstarter campaign. We have problems to write short messages in our phones, i can believe how big this same problems will be in this keyboard.

Cool idea. It’s definitely been done before, but it is not practical. The kinds of people who would use something like this are most likely people who would use Mac or Linux. Which is not bad, but it means that if palm rejection (finger rejection?) is not EXCEPTIONALLY good, then it will flop. You can have all the icons, flashing images, screens, lights, bells, and whistles you want. It someone accident taps 1 pixel off because they capacitive response from their finger triggers more than 1 key, you will find people taking this, smashing it against the wall, and throwing it in the trash.
Show how well the palm and/or finger rejection works on Linux (#1) and then Mac (#2) and it has a chance to be a successful product.
That is just my 2 cents. Probably won’t be considered, but that is from my experiences with tech like this. Linux has a hard enough time with basic palm rejection, let alone fingers on a touchscreen used as a keyboard.

Guess I’m a bit sceptical of how effective a keyboard it will be for a dev, imagining it will be a more effective screen than keyboard.
But it’s a cool premise and if standalone, to be plugged in to a headless server might be useful.
Could imagine it suiting a producer, hammering a drum beat out on the keys and then switching to an audio mixer panel on the touch screen. Or perhaps a graphical artist with a wacom tablet under their right hand and this under their left for move zoom and rotation.

Why? Mobile keyboards barely work well. Many developers are in the complete opposite of the spectrum with a loud and very tactile keyboard.
