<p>As a guy who mainly does solo dev projects, I agree totally. Owning a project end to end from design to development is a crazy undertaking at times cause most the time I realize I am my own worst critic and if it weren’t for my boss telling me just make it work and then make it right, I probably would not ship anything. Scope creep is something that I try to mitigate but out of my control most times so I plan out for scope creep taking it into consideration in my planning cause it’s going to happen I don’t care how well you made something there is always a “but can we” somewhere in there.</p>


<p>I’ve mostly been a solo developer, and one thing that has helped me solve various issues mentioned here is the principle of “Fake it Until You Make it.”</p>
<p>When you sell a product or service before having anything ready, you gain a customer. This means you have requirements and someone to hold you accountable. Most of the time, there is no room for procrastination, perfectionism, or over-engineering. Also you are getting paid which could be a great motivation.</p>
<p>This technique has helped me be a successful solo developer for decades.</p>
