This is what your touch screen is made of?!

Touchscreens work because of a special coating called indium tin oxide (ITO), which is both transparent and electrically conductive — a rare combination. When a finger touches the screen, it distorts the electric field in this layer, allowing the phone to detect the exact touch location. The problem is that indium is not directly mined but is a byproduct of zinc smelting, making supply limited and concentrated in China. With growing demand from phones, tablets, EV displays, and solar panels, researchers have been trying to find a replacement for ITO for 15 years without success.
