LAION, a German nonprofit, is developing an open voice assistant called BUD-E that aims to provide a natural and engaging conversation experience. BUD-E plans to integrate emerging GenAI technologies and ensure components can be integrated with apps license-free. The project is a collaboration between LAION, Ellis Institute, Collabora, and Tübingen AI Center.
