Maker Moritz v. Sivers built an analog clock that uses two holograms instead of visible LEDs. The clock face is a reflection hologram of a numbered spiral dial, illuminated by a single front-mounted LED. What appears to be a ring of LEDs acting as clock hands is actually a transmission hologram with sixty separate exposures — hidden LEDs illuminate it from behind at precise angles to selectively activate each exposure, creating the illusion of lit LEDs where none exist. Moritz built two versions: a larger green one and a simpler red one. This clock is a successor to his earlier holographic 7-segment display clock.
