I don’t have time to argue, I only have time to work. For a few years of trying to learn coding (and cybersecurity recently), I have always turned to WordPress to build my customers’ websites, which is what I survive on.
As I type I am rounding up one of such websites. I don’t think open source is slavery. If the user makes money from their tool, why shouldn’t they also make money? Imagine what your life would have been like if WordPress wasn’t built.
WordPress (Automaticc) has done so much for us, and they have every right to tell a company that makes itself look like them to woo customers, to pay up or at least give back to the community.
The world is very twisted in its handling of conflicts lately. Hardly does anyone do critical thinking in a conflict, they just go with what the internet says.
I honestly thought all this while that WP Engine was affiliated to Automaticc. I use NameCheap and Hostinger, and I do not see Automaticc having any problems with them. It’s all perception, WP engine is a big business that understands this.
Just the name “WP” has given them such a massive edge.
To the WordPress developers talking nonsense, you owe your current livelihood to the hard work of the guys at Automaticc, stop being petty and move your clients to another platform, or build your tool. ooh! or “just fork it” if you have enough coding power and knowledge to handle that (writing your updates, building your plugins, knowing enough cybersecurity to write security updates as well).
