No new foreign drone models will receive FCC authorization, though existing authorized models can still operate. The ban affects nearly the entire consumer drone market since most brands manufacture outside the U.S., and even U.S.-assembled drones with foreign components are banned. American consumers can only purchase currently available models, which will eventually become outdated as the global market advances without U.S. participation.
