The PHP project has officially retired the PHP License and relicensed its code under the three-clause BSD license. The process involved tracking down original PHP Group members for written consent, obtaining sign-off from Perforce Software (successor to Zend Technologies) on the Zend Engine side, legal review by an attorney, a six-month community discussion period, and a unanimous vote.
