DHH only got singled out on this because he wrote about (and bc he’s DHH lmao). Anyway, everyone else is leaving the cloud too. It IS too expensive and it’s not even all that clear what the value proposition is anymore. It’s complex, it’s expensive, and it’s hard to leave. It’s like someone put Cisco in charge of it

I really like DHH and what’s he’s done for Rails and software engineering but seeing his huge face on everything he shares is a bit much. Can’t he find another image? When you have 20million plus, do you need to keep building a brand?

The results are very dependent on the use case,but it’s obvious that the cloud is not always the best solution.
