The Only 5 Zsh Plugins You Need

My problem any time people try to sell me Zsh with all the plugins and stuff is that almost every time it’s either the same things that you can have in any shell, or things that are native to other (arguably) better shells—I use Fish.

<li>Git “plugin”: Just lazy aliases. Do they even provide completion like Fish does when defining a function with <code>--wraps=&lt;COMMAND&gt;</code>?
For comparison: An actual, really good, Git plugin for Fish is Gitnow. It goes beyond simply just renaming commands. That’s what plugins should do!</li>
<li>Auto-suggestions: Native to Fish</li>
<li>Syntax highlighting: Native to Fish</li>
<li><code>you-should-use</code>: IMO, if you create aliases but don’t remember them, you don’t use the command enough to need them.</li>
<li>Just install and use bat, no need for a plugin lmao</li>
</ol>
I’m also shocked that there is no mention of <code>fzf</code> and <code>z</code>, which are the BASICS of must-haves on all shells.
I find the intention very good and always love articles about CLI wizardry, but the end article/video is lacklustre. 😕
