This quote does stand out for me.
Personally we’ve been groomed since our childhood that optics does play a big part in your larger life trajectory. Even if not consciously, we’re always told to colour within the lines so that we don’t stick out like a sore thumb.
And all of it is under the fear of being ostracised by the community. So we end up paying a lot of heed to what others think of us and in the process get confused about what keeps us happy. It’s a tricky situation, cause we’d ideally not want to be too individualistic to be perceived as a nut job.
But then again, as the post mentioned in the end. It’s all about that balance.
