The Nextcloud and OnlyOffice feud may kill my self-hosted office setup

A personal account of reconsidering a self-hosted office setup after Nextcloud and OnlyOffice fell out over the Euro-Office project. OnlyOffice pulled its 8-year partnership with Nextcloud, citing licensing violations in the Euro-Office fork. Concerns about OnlyOffice's Russian development ties and restrictive open-source licensing are pushing the author toward Collabora-backed Nextcloud Office as an interim solution, while keeping an eye on Euro-Office as a potential long-term replacement once it matures and becomes easier to deploy on TrueNAS.
